About

Thanks for stopping by. Here's a bit about me.

Hello 👋, I’m Ashton Suire. I’m an engineer with over a decade of experience in technology with a focus on Linux, networks, infrastructure, open-source software and helping teams use technology in secure, meaningful ways. When I'm not behnid the screen I spend a lot of time at bluegrass picks, skiing, hiking, and camping.

My path into technology started in 2012 in small-town Louisiana, where I got curious about how systems could help small businesses operate more effectively. In 2016, I moved to Colorado and spent the next decade working in the regulated cannabis industry, supporting technology across retail, manufacturing, operations, and compliance. I worked across POS, e-commerce, ERP, infrastructure, and state compliance systems before most cannabis-focused platforms were fully mature, often bridging the gap between technology and regulation without much of a playbook. That experience gave me a practical understanding of how technology supports real businesses, especially in highly regulated environments.

Today, I work at Rule4, where we support clients across infrastructure, networks, applications, vulnerability management, and technical reviews. My work focuses on helping organizations strengthen their security posture, understand risk, and make technology decisions with confidence.

When I'm not behind the computer, I usually ski, hike, fly fish or explore the mountains around my cabin. Being outdoors gives me the space to reset and step away from the screens for a while.

Music is another way I unwind. I love picking guitar or banjo at bluegrass jams and making tunes that belong on a porch somewhere out in the countryside.
